Team portrait : Mario Co-founder of Harrington & man of nature
My name is Mario. I’m part of the Rivest-Rocheleau family and one of the co-founders of Domaine Harrington — but above all, I’m a husband, a dad, and a grandpa!
By nature, I’m calm and reserved. I prefer to work behind the scenes. I’m a hands-on kind of guy, deeply connected to the land, and passionate about the outdoors and wide open spaces — they’ve always played a big role in my life.
I love spending time with family, especially when we set seriousness aside, joke around, and move mountains together. I sometimes think back to those precious moments when facing life’s tougher days.
Why be part of the Harrington adventure?
Because I truly believe in the mission — to harness botanical resources and showcase the richness of our local land through what we craft.
When you need to disconnect, what do you do?
I recharge in the forest at Domaine Harrington, with my trusty chainsaw never too far! I search for old trees ready for harvesting to fuel my wood furnace, and I slowly carve out new trails — ones that will someday be part of phase two of our project. It’s my go-to spot to clear my head and find balance.
Your version of paradise (make us dream!)
Off the grid, out fishing for walleye, surrounded by the sounds of wind through the trees, birds chirping, and crickets humming.
What qualities do you admire most in others?
Listening. Honesty. Authenticity.
Your #1 comfort food after a snowstorm or a rough day?
Whether it’s pouring rain or a full-on blizzard — give me a gluten-free pizza and I’m good!
What’s something that always makes you smile, no matter what?
My little secret of paradise in Harrington... 😊
